First Arthroscopic surgery performed in GMC Baramulla.

GMC Baramulla first among new medical Colleges In J&K to procure high end Arthroscope, it will help to diagnose and treat a variety of joint conditions, most commonly those affecting the: Knee,Shoulder,Elbow,Ankle,Hip &Wrist. Today First arthroscopic procedure of knee was performed by the department of Orthopaedics successfully of a female patient in presence of worthy Principal Dr. (Prof) Ruby Reshi, the patient was diagnosed with tear of meniscus. “This facility will help people of North Kashmir, Now they don’t need to go to Srinagar or outside state for arthroscopic procedures of knee”, said Principal GMC Baramulla Dr.(Prof) Ruby Reshi “Her presence at the time of our first knee Arthroscopic procedure was encouragement for whole orthopaedic surgical team”, Dr Ishtiyaq Abdullah (Asst. Professor Orthopaedics) added. The procedure was done by Dr Ishtiyaq Abdullah (Asst Professor), Dr. Zamir Ali (Asst Professor), Mr Jaffar, Mr Fareed, Mr. Javid, Mr Mufeed and others. “We are very thankful to our Principal Dr.(Prof) Ruby Reshi for her efforts to bring this institute in limelight”, said in charge OT Mohammad Hussain Geelani.
